How far is the Nyamazane from the nearest town?
The nearest town is Izingolweni which is a mere 3 km from the entrance to the ranch. It is also 34 km from port shepstone on the N2 towards Harding/Kokstad. The ranch is approximately 1.5 hours drive from Durban.
Do we need a 4x4 to get around?
You can access the farm with a normal sedan but a high clearance vehicle or 4×4 is required if you would like to do self game drives.
What are the closest airports?
The closest airport is Margate Airport which is 53.7km from Izingolweni. King Shaka International Airport is 191,1km from Izingolweni and Pietermaritzburg Airport is 180,2km from Izingolweni.
Is the water on the property safe to drink?
Yes, the lodge uses borehole water which is clean and perfectly safe to drink. Complementary water is provided, however, should you require more, we will happily provide it on request.
Is there a shop on the ranch?
Currently there is no shop on the ranch however development of a curio shop, where gifts and and memorabilia as well as fresh farm milk and macadamia nut products produced on the ranch can be purchased, is in the pipeline. There is a superette where basic necessities can be purchased approximately 5 km from the ranch gate in the nearest town, Izingolweni.
What should I pack?
A sun hat, sunglasses, light clothes for summer and warm jackets and gloves for winter, sun block and comfortable walking shoes. To make viewing game more pleasant remember binoculars, camera, field guide for birds and chargers for all your electronics.
Is Nyamazane Game Ranch a malaria area?
The ranch is a malaria free area but it is recommended that you always consult your doctor before travelling for personal advice and tips.
Is there mobile reception on the game ranch?
Most mobile services work on the farm but signal varies. It is therfore advised that you plan to answer urgent messages, calls and emails only.
